Product Description

A deep maroon, the red of old wine.

Maroon bands, each worked in a fine diamond weave, alternate with broad stripes of pale gold tissue. Tissue is cloth with zari carried through the weave, so it shines across its whole surface. The pallu opens into one wide panel of gold tissue, closed by a plain maroon end.

Against so dark a red the gold reads almost rose, which softens the whole saree.

This saree is an imitation of Muga silk, the golden wild silk of Assam, woven wholly from natural Mulberry silk twisted to give the feel and touch of Muga. It remains 100% pure silk. From our own looms in Banaras. 6.5 metres in all, including the unstitched blouse piece.

Fabric: Pure Mulberry Silk

Length: 6.5 metres, with matching blouse piece
